A relative newcomer to the indie rock scene, SUBSCAPULAR has proven that persistence and a kick-ass sound that resonates with originality can put a band in the forefront of a new musical movement. Bringing to the frontline a mixture of progressive instrumentation, insanely catchy melodies and an attitude that spells nothing but fun; these boys from the northern part of the metro are definitely on to something new. And people are taking notice! With massive support from fellow musicians; both established and newcomers alike, a fan-base that is consistently growing, and with that hunger to step up, the boys have pushed the envelope further and further in both their live performances and the adjustment to the pressure that comes along with being in the peripheral vision and earshot of that borderless audience waiting outside of the regular gigging circuit. To put an exclamation to this bold attempt, 2007 will see the arrival of SUBSCAPULAR to that bigger, wider audience that they have longed to expose to their brand of music with their debut album, TELEFICTION (Pop-No-Comply Records). Hitting stores late this year and kicking things off with a tour that promises to put them into the gigging spotlight, the band knows that there is that pressure to succeed, that expectation to prove that they can pull themselves out of the shadows and maintain the musical integrity that they have always been known for. But if there is one thing that they want people to know, it is this: SUBSCAPULAR is up for the challenge. Not bad for a group of kids that started off jamming in the back of their highschool after classes. News from the forefront: - MYX will be featuring Subscapular on the 2nd part of the MYXPOSED documentary on "EMO", this Saturday (Feb. 16, 2008) The MYX crew will be following the band starting from Rod's house straight to the jamming studio before ending at that night's gig at freedom bar (check scheds for info on the gig) while we give our insight and share how difficult it is to exist as an "emo" band during this day and age. - SUBSCAPULAR is going to be on MYX BANDARITO this March, Here are the dates: March 1 3:30pm March 2 1:30am March 6 8:00pm March 7 7:00am - SUBSCAPULAR will be featured on the april-may issue of MYXMAG
