About Me:

Radha

Genre: Soul / R&B

The name Radha came from a goddess from ancient Indian Folk lore. In this case however, it refers to a young talented singer-songwriter from Manila Philippines. Radha believes that singing and performing is what she was born to do, since then it has become her craft, constantly honing her abilities so that she may better express herself. Performances to her are like great opportunities to learn something new, and she accredits most of what she knows to experience as well as mentoring under the greats, in the form of the radio. Her influences include Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Billy Holiday, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Chaka Kahn, Prince, Al Green, to name a few and their music is constantly heard in most of her shows. With each song she performs of her favorite artists, her distinct vocal style is heard in every verse and chorus making it her very own.

She started her singing career at a very young age, as she describes her earliest memory of standing in front of a crowd singing in her preparatory class at the age of five. From then on there were several stints on Television and stage ahead for Radha but the most promising break came at the age of fifteen when she then joined as lead singer of the internationally acclaimed group called Kulay (article on Kulay below) who won countless awards in the Philippines and went on an international tour all over the UK, Germany, Italy, and Denmark which put them on the dance charts in local UK radio and Billboard. In 1999 Pepsi launched their ad campaign called "Ask for more" and chose Kulay to be their endorsers. In 2001 Radha decided to then embark on a solo career to pursue her own personal musical style. Since then she has won her own fair share of awards and accolades and is widely respected in the local industry as one of the premiere Soul and R&B artists. She has also explored her songwriting by writing for other local artists as well as writing for her own much anticipated solo album.

Top Suzara

Genre: Cool Rock

Top Suzara (Vocalist) - Top Suzara was the former male lead vocals of the band “Freestyle”. Apart from being one of the lead vocals, he was also the songwriter behind the songs of the said band. After being a part of the said band for over eight (8) years, he decided to take a break and concentrated on writing music.

After a hiatus of more than a year, Top decided to re-enter the music world, only this time as a solo artist. As such, he recorded his solo album “Carry On” wherein his hit song “Sabihin Mo Na”, among others, is included. In this album, Top showcased not only his ability as a writer and composer, but his versatility as a performer as well, considering that the material contained in the album was edgy and very distinct from the material he wrote when he was still with Freestyle. During this time, Top was also able to establish himself as a viable and strong acoustic performer.

A couple of years later, however, it was inevitable for Top to return to the band scene. Such led to the formation of his present band.

Top Suzara’s band is composed of seasoned musicians who have worked with various artists who are well known in the entertainment industry. The band has a three-man core responsible for the creation of a distinct sound that sets the band apart from all the other bands in the music scene. The core consists of Top Suzara as the main vocals and rhythm guitarist, Isaac Joseph “I.J.” Garcia, the musical director/keyboardist and back-up vocals, and Adrian “Janno” Queyquep on lead guitars. The rest of the band are there to complete and enhance the sound created by the core group.

The band’s music is a fusion of Jazz/RnB and Jazz/Pop music. Currently, the band is in the process of recording an album that will surely capture the interest of all music lovers who have been searching and yearning for music that they can listen and relate to as they go through life’s experiences.

IJ Garcia (Keyboards/Musical Director) - Better known by his first two initials, IJ’s first professional break was playing keyboards for the vocal group 17:28, where he was mentored by respected musical director Mon Faustino. As he made his rounds playing live in various establishments and events, more and more people took notice of his talent. He was invited to play for several of the country’s premiere artists such as Sarah Geronimo, Freestyle, Paolo Santos, and many more.

Audie Gemora, esteemed theater actor and president of STAGES, entrusted IJ to be Musical Director of a major musical production, Footloose, which featured Jay-R and Iya Villania as lead actors. This project not only made him the youngest Musical Director of his time, but also gave him the opportunity to venture into the other aspects of music. At a very young age, IJ has gained the respect of many significant personalities in the Philippine Music Industry. He now has become Musical Director for a number of shows, concerts, and events. He has also gone into producing and arranging music for various artists. He was Musical Director for the very successful local adaptation of High School Musical, which featured Sam Concepcion. He has arranged for Philippine Idol, Rachelle Ann Go, and Jay-R to name a few. Currently he is working closely with Christian Bautista, Philippine Idol’s Gian Magdangal, Sheree, Top Suzara, and the Sabado Boys.

Janno Queyquep (Guitarist) - Coming from humble beginnings, Adrian Queyquep, better known as Janno by his colleagues, is one of the most versatile guitarists in the Philippines. Being so, he has been the guitarist of choice by several of the top musicians in the industry no matter what genre. He is even one of the resident guitarist in Universal Records, for many of their artists. His skills have brought him into the many fields of music here and abroad.
