JACK DANIELS GLOBAL MUSIC TOUR - PHILIPPINES:

QUALITY GOOD TIME AND LIVE MUSIC 101

April 17, 2009 Jack Daniels at the Nbc Tent in Global City, The Fort gave us all a crash course on quality good time and live music 101 (no books included!) with their latest endeavor The Jack Daniels Global Music Tour Philippines.  Marking the grand draw of the regional raffle promo and presenting an awesome performance from the Philippine delegates to the Singapore culmination of the tour; Cynthia Alexander and Nyko Maca + Playground (NM + PG).  Firing up the excitement were the most rockin‘ local music acts of Corporate Lo Fi, Taken By Cars, Urban Dub and Razorback, along with DJ Ralph Roy, K.O. Jones and Hiway 69.  Taking the party to full speed were hosts Mtv VJ Sib Sibulo and film director-model Rozie Delgado joined by the quaint company of characters from Black Pearl Philippines.  The killer collaboration of Cynthia Alexander and NM + PG was chosen best among 21 local artists from the Jack Mix Collaboration Series in 2007 and represented the country at the Jack Daniels Global Music Tour at the Hard Rock Café Singapore last May 7 to 9, 2009 together with representatives from neighboring Asian countries.

Cynthia Alexander and her exceptionally talented band of musicians Mlou Matute (kulintang/keys/percs), Simon Tan (bass), Cj Wasu (tabla), paired up with Nyko Maca + PlayGround: Mads Abubakar (beats), Alvin Cornista (alto saxophone), Rick Sanchez (acoustic guitars) represented the country at the Jack Daniels Global Music Tour at the Hard Rock Café Singapore last May 7 to 9, 2009. Blowing away minds and making the Philippines proud with their world-folk cool mashed up with NM +PG’s samabatronica drum n’ bass as they performed both artist’s respective original compositions namely Cynthia Alexander’s “Mantra” and NM + PG’s “Angela”.  And later completely flooring the crowd with both artists rendition of the Freddie Aguilar masterpiece “Anak”, as representatives from neighboring Asian countries such as namely Spydamonkee & Playboy Electronic from Thailand, Sore from Indonesia, Lab Rat, Five & Dime from Malaysia and DJ Kruise from Vietnam grooved along to their hearts content. 

Gabe Fajardo, Brand Manager of Jack Daniels Philippines is proud to have chosen the musical partnership of Cynthia Alexander and NM +PG as he describes the combination to be "artists who are all heart, passionate, driven and honest with their music …” Gabe further added that they successfully provided “an excellent example of how and what Philippine music is all about.”  Truly this endeavor given a renewed sense of nationalistic pride and encouragement for local talent to step up their game and continue to be true to their music; as the Jack Daniels Philippines’ campaign and the Philippine delegation to the Jack Daniels Global Music Event – Singapore, Cynthia Alexander and NM + PG, has opened new doors for future opportunities to make the country rock!
