A DISTINCTIVE MASHUP OF EASY-LISTENING ROCK AND ALTERNATIVE ROCK-PUNK

Our Profile
Name: Ciudad + Overtone MOTO Mashup
Location: Manila
Relationship Status: Single
Sounds like...: Ciudad, Overtone, easy-listening rock, alternative rock, punk, rock
About Me:

Ciudad

Band Members:
Mikey Amistoso – vocals, bass, piano
  Justin Sunico – guitar, vocals
  Mitch Singson – drums

Genre: Easy-listening rock

Ciudad’s sound is primarily guitar-rock with sweet, catchy melodies. Although their live sound consists of just guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, their recordings often include sounds from instruments not usually used in a rock-band setting like horns (trumpet, trombone, saxophone), cellos, violins, and the piano (always the acoustic ones, no digitals or synths).

Over the years, Ciudad’s sound has evolved and matured from happy bubblegum punk rock, to power-pop, and now, to easy-listening rock.

Overtone

Band Members:
  Norby David – Bass
  Jay Padua – Guitar
  Frank de Castro – Drums

Genre: Alternative rock / punk

Overtone was formed back in 2003. All members have been in the music scene for years. They are all seasoned musicians having all experienced performing professionally with different bands and accompanying other artists.

Through the years, Overtone has constantly been in the Makati bar scene playing rock and alternative cover songs as well as their originals; building a loyal following of listeners and fans. They have also played in other venues and at various events in and around the metro, all with positive listener acceptance.

Overtone is now ready to go out and make their music known to the general public. Though experienced in playing different genres of music, they have gone back to their roots in rock. Their music is a blend of all the musical influences of each member; resulting in a modern sound that infuses alternative rock and punk styles.

They recently released their debut album, including twelve original songs which are a good mix of fast and slow, English and Filipino. Overtone’s music touches a lot of topics, mainly about the personal experiences of the band members, which a lot of people will be able to relate to.
