About Me: Acel -- her voice is already a familiar sound in Philippine alternative-pop music.

In 1995 she sang as lead vocalist of the band "Orphan Lily" that went on to accept Best New Artist Awards of two leading radio stations.

By 1999 Acel went on to co-found the multi-awarded band "Moonstar88" that produced two albums with four hit singles - including "Torete".

After a successful 5 years, Acel parted ways with Moonstar88 and from 2004 to late 2006, Acel collaborated with LMP Music slowly working and producing her own collection of unreleased songs she'd written over the years.

In 2007 she joined Cornerstone Talent Management as a solo artist. In mid 2007 Acel's song "Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-Ibig" was included in the sci-fi drama Rounin. Later on in the year a music video of "Pakiusap" was released. The press also introduced her as the Philippine's FIRST Digital artist, attributing to the way she has promoted her music solely online giving online fans a taste of her music long before it ever was put up for sale in CD format.

In early 2008 Acel was given the honor of singing "One Love", theme song of the popular Korean drama "Spring Waltz" and a few months later her original composition "Gulo, Hilo, Lito" was included in the Philippine remake of the Korean drama series "My Girl". She also wrote a song entitled "I Believe" that Christian Bautista sang in his new album "Captured" released this July 2008.

Her debut solo album entitled "Acel van Ommen - Silver Lining" has also eventually been released into the market with 10 tracks. Her song "Laugh and Cry" aims to intially carry the new album when it officially launches after she gives birth.

Acel's soothing and expressive vocals are influenced by the likes of "The Sundays", "The Cardigans" and British pop indie band "Shellyan Orphan" among others.

Her musicianship brings a blend of alternative-pop, folk, slight jazz, and a tad of broadway in an almost "euro-rock" feel through her vocals and arrangement.

Acel has matured and fine-tuned her musical style in her all-new endeavour. Today, 4 years into her marriage with Danny van Ommen, Acel is expecting a baby boy in July or August of 2008.
